ONE: NEW HOUSE (PART TWO)

This is Part 2 of Chapter One in the book. Enjoy! We shall continue where we ended last time! This chapter is too long and Part 1 is too short! I'll try better in dividing the chapter in half next time! ^ ^ Hope you like the story!

I was moving up my cupboard when suddenly, I heard loud thuds coming from up the stairs. Instinctively, I looked up. There was a huge giant towering on the top of the stairs. My very smart brain immediately processed the information and I realised that the giant was a human! The Watters! The family I was living with!

When you are a tiny guy and a pair of black boots are going to step on you and your beloved cupboard, what do you do? Run, of course! "Hey, Mum, I'm going out to play soccer with my friends!" the giant shouted. Then, he started running down the stairs.

My natural instincts kicked in. I grabbed my cupboard and started leaping down the stairs at record speed time. Maybe the Book of Little Guys Records may capture this as the fastest time taken to climb down half a flight of stairs. Anyway, the giant was probably excited to play his soccer too, so he was running down the stairs very fast too.

To make things worse, he could run down steps two at a time. My best record was only two steps for one step of stairs. I knew I may not be able to outrun him. But I didn't want me and my cupboard to be crushed under his feet. It seemed that life at the Watters may be exciting - too exciting, maybe.

The giant, well, the teenager, was coming down the stairs at full speed. There was a gigantic ball in his hands. That ball alone could squish me flat. And that guy was going to kick that ball? Wow, size difference. The boy was shouting "Yeah, CrazeBams rock! We're going to win today! Whoohoo!" and jumping down the stairs.

I was already running for my life, yet the shoes were still coming closer and closer to my tiny head. If I didn't act fast enough, I was going to die! What a terrible way to die! "Yeah, CrazeBams, whoohoo!" the guy continued whooping. I was making my way down the second last step when that stupid guy tossed his ball.

The ball was coming down at me at full speed. For a moment, I saw it's beautiful patterns on it. "Black and white!" I shouted to myself. Then, I realised it was going to land on me. "Ahhh! Ball incoming!" I cried, jumping down the stairs.

"Whew, made it!" I said to myself as I landed on the ground just as the ball bounced on the second last step, the step I was previously on. "What a relief! Luckily I'm safe!" The guy was rushing down the steps, trying to pick up his ball. But then, to my surprise, the ball bounced up.

Towards me.

"What?!" I screamed out loud. That ball could bounce! I had totally underestimated it. It clearly proved I had to be more "updated" in my Research & Development in Human Behaviour. But then, I had no more time to think of anything already.

Because the ball had leaped into the air, coming right for my furniture in a corner of the house.

"Noooo! Not my furniture!" I screamed.

I rushed towards the pile of furniture in the corner. The ball was flying towards me and the pile. Then I did something totally unbelievable. I used my leg and kicked it. No, don't tell me that was a stupid thing to do. It actually...worked. The ball didn't, of course, got rammed to the other side of the house, but it fell to the ground and rolled towards the guy who was shocked.

"What...the ball actually stopped in midair and rolled back? Wow..." the guy muttered to himself. The guy picked up the ball and rushed out of the door. I let out a sigh of relief. "Whew, what a close shave..." I muttered to myself.

I had no more time to lose. Before I got squished by another hazard again. Without anymore further delays, I carried up the furniture to my new home. Luckily, this time there were no more further delays.

After everything was finished, I went up to my house and admired at everything. "Ah, just perfect," I said to myself. The size of my house was just right. The walls were also polished until they were shiny. "I wonder do this family do clean-ups," I wondered out loud as I brushed my hand across the pearly white surface.

I decided that today, I had too much of an adventure. After all, I had just braved near death! Maybe tomorrow I'd start exploring the new house and the neighbourhood.

And now, I just needed a good rest in my bed in my new house. Just perfect.
